Nurture recognises that places continue to evolve long after design and making are complete. It is our approach to long-term care, adaptation, and support, helping interiors, furniture, and spaces remain healthy, functional, and meaningful over time.

Rooted in living-systems thinking, Nurture supports people and places as needs change, ensuring what we create can be cared for, adapted, and lived with well into the future.

Well-being in Place

We spend over 90% of our time indoors, and our surroundings play a vital role in shaping how we feel. Natural environments are proven to restore balance, inspire awe, and foster belonging and interiors can do the same when designed with care.

By making healthier choices in materials, light, air quality, and spatial flow, we create interiors that:

  • Support mental and physical health

  • Encourage reflection, growth, and creativity

  • Provide a sense of meaning, wholeness, and belonging

Instead of waiting for illness, we design places that actively nurture well-being weaving preventative health into everyday living

Why Nurture Matters

Interiors and objects are often treated as finished once installation is complete. In reality, spaces are lived in, adapted, repaired, and reinterpreted over time.
Nurture acknowledges this reality. By supporting care and adaptation beyond completion, we help extend the life of spaces and objects, reduce waste, and strengthen the relationship between people, place, and what they live with.

What Nurture Can Include

Depending on the project, Nurture may include:

  • Ongoing advice and support as spaces are lived in

  • Adaptation or reconfiguration as needs, uses, or teams change

  • Repair, refinement, or extension of existing furniture or joinery

  • Guidance on care, materials, and long-term performance

  • Support for re-use, re-purposing, or integration into new contexts

  • Consultancy sessions, reviews, or workshops to support reflection, learning, and informed decision-making over time

Designing for Change

By considering care and adaptation from the outset, Nurture helps ensure that interiors and objects are not fixed or disposable, but responsive and resilient.

This approach supports circular use of materials, reduces unnecessary replacement, and allows spaces to evolve alongside the people and organisations who use them.

From Co-create to Nurture

Nurture builds on the understanding and relationships developed through Discover and Co-create. It ensures that the intentions set early on continue to guide how spaces are used, cared for, and adapted over time.

Carbon Responsibility & Circular Impact

We are committed to reducing the carbon impact of everything we design and make.

  • We source the most sustainable materials available, including innovative options such as repurposed agricultural waste. All materials are carefully documented to build transparency around their origin, use, and potential for reuse.
  • Our glueless, modular construction methods make furniture and joinery easier to adapt, repair, and repurpose extending their life and reducing waste.
  • By working with local supply chains, we minimise transport emissions and support resilient regional economies.
  • We are also developing a carbon calculator to measure and share the full impact of our projects. Our aim is to reduce emissions year on year and achieve net zero carbon by 2030.

Aftercare & Longevity

Nurture is also about what happens after installation.

We support our clients with guidance on care, maintenance, and upgrades so that interiors, kitchens, and furniture remain durable, beautiful, and adaptable for generations.

This might mean repainting cabinetry with low-toxin finishes, replacing modular parts, or reconfiguring joinery to suit a new context. By designing for longevity and re-use, we ensure your investment continues to add value for years to come.

Community & Learning

Nurture isn’t only personal it’s collective.

We share our knowledge through talks, workshops, and collaborations with like-minded organisations. As our community grows, so does the impact. Together, we can create healthier homes, workplaces, and communities that align with the principles of regenerative living.

We design everything with its whole life in mind, not just how it looks on the day it’s finished, but how it performs in ten years, how it can be repaired, adapted, or given a new life entirely. That’s what it means to design responsibly.

I found their customer service and reliability first class. There are always problems when carrying out these types of projects. Since I do not live nearby, I relied on both of them to solve problems and take important decisions on my behalf. Bruce’s team is very skilled, tidy and respectful and the work was carried out to a very high standard with attention to detail.
