This beautiful modern house was designed to be open plan but the owners felt the kitchen/lounge space needed to be broken up, to create more zonal areas. Being a structural engineer the client had very definite ideas and designs for what what was wanted and a collaborative design process was carried out to designer a divider for the rooms. The client wanted to work with us due to our sustainable credentials and so we advised over low toxicity, low carbon materials to use and construction methods to allow repurpose ability in the future.

Bespoke shelving was built to contain various ornaments and plants. Built backless this enables light to come through the shelving and for the ornaments and plants to be seen from both zones. Cabinetry was built at the bottom of the divider, on the kitchen side to store crockery and on the lounge side to have a TV media wall inbuilt.
